Twin Cities Begin Preparations to Counter PTI’s Sept 27 Protest

The administrations of Islamabad and Rawalpindi have started major security preparations to stop the PTI’s planned September 27 protest, including orders for container supplies, mass personnel deployments, and preventive arrests.

The Islamabad police have asked contractors to supply more than 1,000 containers. Authorities plan to use these large steel structures to seal entry points, major highways, and the Red Zone

High demand across Punjab and Sindh has created a shortage of available containers. Police teams have already placed over 100 containers along roadsides at key locations like Faizabad, Tarnol, and Sangjani.

Manpower Requested

Authorities are preparing to request more than 15,000 extra personnel. This force will include officers from the Punjab and Sindh police, the Federal Constabulary, and the Rangers.

Preventive Arrests

At the same time, the Rawalpindi administration has issued detention orders for over 30 PTI workers under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).

Intelligence units are also tracking local party leaders and monitoring their activities closely.
