UAE Work Visa for Pakistanis: Police Character Certificate Now Mandatory for UAE Employment Visa

The UAE work visa for Pakistanis has become more stringent after the United Arab Emirates introduced a new documentation requirement for employment visa applicants. Pakistani citizens planning to work in the UAE must now submit a Police Character Certificate as part of the visa application process.

According to the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE), the UAE government has officially enforced the new requirement for Pakistani nationals, with implementation already in effect from July 20. The move aims to strengthen the verification process for individuals seeking employment in the Gulf country.

Under the updated rules, applicants must first obtain a Good Conduct (Police Character) Certificate from the relevant police authority in Pakistan. Once issued, the certificate must be attested by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Pakistan before it can be submitted with the UAE work visa application.

The Bureau of Emigration has advised all Pakistani workers to complete this mandatory documentation before applying for their UAE employment visa. Officials warned that failure to provide the attested Police Character Certificate may result in delays or complications during the visa processing stage.

The UAE remains one of the most popular destinations for Pakistani job seekers, with thousands of workers traveling to the country every year for employment opportunities in construction, healthcare, hospitality, information technology, and other sectors. The latest requirement is expected to ensure greater transparency and compliance with the UAE’s immigration and security regulations.

Applicants are encouraged to begin the Police Character Certificate process well in advance, as obtaining the certificate and completing the embassy attestation may take additional time. Completing all required documents before submitting the visa application can help avoid unnecessary delays and improve the chances of timely visa approval.
