In Wana, Lower South Waziristan District, the promise of easy e-domicile issuance has turned into a frustrating ordeal, especially for young people and women. Since its launch on March 21, 2024, the e-domicile initiative mandated by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) provincial government has failed to simplify bureaucracy for locals.
The main source of frustration is the requirement of a B Form for online e-domicile applications. However, getting a B Form is challenging for those over 18, creating a bureaucratic deadlock that hinders access to essential documents like domicile and ID cards.
Students and the public are struggling, having to visit offices daily without progress. Farid Wazir, in charge of e-facilities, noted the government announced this initiative but didn’t address the current challenges.
The situation highlights the need for easier processes to ensure everyone can access vital documents without unnecessary hurdles.
