The government has announced plans to provide digital wallets to all Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) beneficiaries this year, allowing them to collect funds and use other digital services directly.
The government announced a major digital upgrade for millions of families enrolled in the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP). Speaking at the launch of a new ‘Z-Wallet,’ State Minister for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani confirmed that every BISP recipient will receive a digital wallet this year.
These new digital wallets will work just like regular bank accounts. Over 10 million BISP members already receive their payments online, but the new wallet system will let families transfer money, pay monthly utility bills, and access other basic financial services directly from their phones.
