WhatsApp Is Redesigning Android App for a More iOS-Like Appearance

WhatsApp is testing a redesigned navigation bar on Android. The new layout adds Meta AI to the bottom navigation bar and gives the interface a more rounded and transparent look
The redesign was spotted in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.26.38.10. The update is still under development. The current version shown in testing is not the final design.
The new navigation bar has a more oval shape. It also uses more transparency than the current design. The layout appears closer to WhatsApp’s navigation design on iOS.
Meta AI Moves to Navigation Bar
The test build places the Meta AI button inside the navigation bar. Meta AI currently appears as a floating button above the compose button on Android.
Screenshots from the beta build show Meta AI in more than one location. This suggests that WhatsApp is still testing the layout.
The redesigned navigation bar will also support dark mode.
The update is currently available only to WhatsApp beta testers using the specified Android version. WhatsApp has not announced a public release date for the new design.
The redesign could take several weeks to reach the stable Android app. WhatsApp may also make further changes before releasing it to all users.
