SYLHET, May 19 — Bangladesh have set Pakistan a challenging target of 437 runs in the second Test in Sylhet after a dominant all-round performance across both innings.
Marking their second innings 390 all out, Bangladesh were bowled out to extend the lead from their 278-run first innings effort, while Pakistan secured a 232-run second innings score. In the first innings, however, Pakistan were bowled out for 232 runs and Bangladesh were able to take a big lead as they were 46 runs behind.
Pakistan took the bat back to the crease with a high score chase of 437, as they started their fourth innings under pressure on a pitch that consistently favoured bowlers. Bangladesh’s bowling side remained disciplined and put the pressure up in the middle as the situation grew murky.
The home side have maintained their batting form in both innings and now firmly in control of the match. Pakistan are now in a tricky situation as they will need a big bat to keep them in the game and partnerships to keep them in the game.
The result remains open but heavily favors Bangladesh as the match moves into its final stages.
