Bangladesh started off aggressively in the first innings, but they were even more aggressive in the second innings, extending their overall lead beyond the 200-run mark with a disciplined batting effort.
After Bangladesh posted 278 in their first innings, Pakistan’s bowling side found it difficult to hold the hosts’ pressure as the disparity between the two increased rapidly.
Top players of Bangladesh’s batting line-up have held the balance in their hands and the home side has demonstrated better application on a surface that gives assistance to the bowlers.
The Pakistani bowlers, including Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Abbas and Hasan Ali, have attempted to exert pressure but failed to commit to enough stoppages to put an end to the run-scoring spree.
Bangladesh are in a commanding situation for the final sessions of the Test with a lead of more than 200 runs and still some wickets to get. Pakistan must react strongly to stay away from further defeat in the series.
