Big Blow for Pakistan Ahead of Australia ODIs as Fakhar Zaman & Saim Ayub Ruled Out

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that opening batter Fakhar Zaman and young top-order player Saim Ayub will not be available for selection in the upcoming ODI series against Australia national cricket team due to injuries.

The PCB stated in its official press release that both players are under rehabilitation under the board’s medical team and are recovering. They are being closely watched as they resume recovery.

The cricket board said it would inform the public in due course about the rest of the squad selection and fitness of the players.

ODI Series Schedule Between Pakistan and Australia

Pakistan vs Australia ODI series is to start from May 30 with the first match of the series on May 30 followed by a match on June 2 and June 4.

The Australia team are expected to reach Islamabad on May 23 while the Pakistan team will start training in Rawalpindi on May 22. The team will also play a scrimmage before the series.

Selection Concerns for Pakistan Ahead of Key Series

Pakistan’s top order has been severely affected by the absence of Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub ahead of the high stakes series. Now the team management is expected to consider alternative combinations for the preparations.
