England Seals the Series at Lord’s: Robinson and Archer Broke Pakistan’s Resistance in Pak vs Eng

England won the three-match series against Pakistan early after a big 194-run victory at Lord’s, leading 2-0 with one game left to play

Although Pakistan lost badly, people will remember this match for its intense fast bowling, a brave fight from Pakistan’s middle batters, and a historic individual milestone on cricket’s most famous honors board.

The Attack That Broke the Back of the Match

England finished and won the game a day early thanks to the fast, aggressive, and highly accurate bowling of Ollie Robinson and Jofra Archer.

England set a target of 389 runs to win, and their bowlers pressured Pakistan right from the start. They quickly got Pakistan’s top three batters, Azan Awais, Abdullah Shafique and Babar Azam, out. It left the team at a terrible 14 runs with three players lost.

In a very dramatic moment, Jofra Archer bowled a fast, high-bouncing ball at 91mph that hit Babar’s helmet grille and flew straight to a nearby fielder.

Robinson finished the innings with 4 wickets for 24 runs, bringing his total for the entire match to 8 wickets for 35 runs.

Saud Shakeel Missed Century

Pakistan’s second innings could easily have turned into a complete surrender, but Saud Shakeel had other plans.

He fearlessly faced many dangerous, high-bouncing balls and hit two sixes off Josh Tongue’s bowling. He also made a very important 97-run partnership with captain, Shan Masood. Unfortunately for Pakistan, he was caught near the boundary line just three runs before scoring a century, after hitting a high ball bowled by Tongue.

Abbas’s Historic Move

Although Pakistan lost the match, their veteran fast bowler Mohammad Abbas earned a spot on the famous Lord’s honors board by getting five England batters out for 57 runs in the second innings. He took nine total wickets during the match.

Looking Ahead to Edgbaston

With this comprehensive victory (their first Test series win since late 2024) England has successfully secured the series 2-0.

Attention now turns to the final match of the series, which is set to begin at Edgbaston on September 9. For England, it is a chance for a clean sweep, and for Pakistan, it will be a battle for pride to reclaim a result before heading home.
