India vs Pakistan to Clash in Asian Games Cricket Final After India Beat Sri Lanka

India will face Pakistan in the Asian Games men’s cricket final after beating Sri Lanka by 124 runs in the second semi-final in Nisshin today. The final will decide the gold medal in the 2026 Asian Games.
India posted 169 for 7 after being sent in to bat. Ishan Kishan led the innings with an unbeaten 80 from 46 balls. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi added 38 from 21 balls.
Sri Lanka struggled to handle the difficult pitch. Sahan Arachchige and Tharindu Ratnayake took two wickets each. India still reached 169.
Sri Lanka then collapsed for 45 in 14.5 overs. It was the second-lowest total in a men’s Asian Games match. It also matched the lowest T20I score by a Full Member team.
Jasprit Bumrah led India’s bowling with 2 for 7 in two overs. Abhishek Sharma took 2 for 2. Axar Patel claimed 2 for 8. India also completed three run-outs.
India Dominate on Difficult Pitch
Spinners played a major role in the match. India used four spinners. Sri Lanka used three.
Spinners delivered 149 of the 179 balls bowled in the match. They took 12 wickets and bowled 73 dot balls.
Bumrah also made history during the chase. India took two wickets before conceding a run for the first time in a men’s T20I.
Pakistan vs India
The result sends India into the final against Pakistan on Saturday, October 3. Pakistan had already secured its place in the gold-medal match after beating Bangladesh by six wickets in the other semi-final.
The India-Pakistan final will be the first meeting between the two teams in a 2026 final. It will decide the Asian Games men’s cricket gold medal.
