Inzamam-Ul-Haq Threatens to Resign as Pakistan’s Chief Selector

Inzamam-ul-Haq, the former Pakistan captain and current chief selector, is reportedly contemplating stepping down from his role due to disagreements with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Reports indicate that Inzamam has expressed his dissatisfaction with the appointment of Shahid Anwar as the head coach for the U19 men’s team.

However, a PCB spokesperson responded, saying, “Inzamam happily took part in the selection of the U19 men’s team and the women’s A team. We don’t have any updates about Inzamam being unhappy with the board.”

It has been reported that Inzamam had advocated for the appointment of former Pakistan cricketer Mohammad Yousaf as the head coach of the U19 team.

Notably, this isn’t the first instance of discord between Inzamam and the PCB, as they have encountered difficulties in reaching a mutual agreement in the past.

Inzamam recently took on the role of chairman for the Junior Men’s Cricket Selection Committee, in addition to his existing responsibilities as the head of the senior selection committee.

The senior selection committee comprises four members, including Tauseef Ahmed, Wajahatullah Wasti, and Wasim Haider. Meanwhile, the junior selection committee has seven members, including Aamer Nazir, Javed Hayat, Mahmood Hamid, Naveed Latif, Salman Ahmed, and Sanaullah Baloch.
