Nepal Faces Afghanistan Today in Asian Games Men’s Cricket

Nepal will begin its men’s cricket campaign against Afghanistan today at the Asian Games in Japan. The Group A match will takes place today at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, Japan.

Nepal faces Afghanistan today in its opening men’s cricket match at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

The Group A match started at 10:00 AM PKT at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, Aichi. The fixture is Afghanistan’s second group match and Nepal’s first.

Afghanistan opened its campaign on Thursday with a 48-run victory over Japan. Afghanistan scored 129 for six before dismissing Japan for 81 in 19.3 overs.

Nepal, Afghanistan and Japan in Group A

Nepal, Afghanistan and host nation Japan are in Group A. Each team will play two group matches.

Nepal will face Japan in its second match on September 26. The top two teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals.

The quarter-final opponents will depend on the final group standings. The Group A runner-up will face India, while the Group A winner will face Sri Lanka in the quarter-final stage.

Nepal reached the quarter-finals in the previous Asian Games cricket tournament. It was eliminated by India at that stage.

The men’s cricket competition features 10 teams. The tournament will continue through the bronze-medal match and final on October 3.
