PCB to Turn Gaddafi Stadium Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness ODI

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will dedicate Pakistan’s ODI against England on October 25 to breast cancer awareness at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. The campaign will feature pink kits, branded stumps, stadium messages and activities with Pink Ribbon to promote early detection and timely treatment.

The match is part of the tri-series involving Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka. The PCB announced the initiative on October 18 as part of its corporate social responsibility activities during Pinktober, which marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Pakistan Team to Wear Special Pink Kits

Pakistan’s men’s team will wear specially designed pink kits for the match. Match officials and commentators will also be invited to wear pink ribbons to show support for patients and survivors.

The stumps will feature pink branding. Awareness messages will appear on the stadium’s big screen and LED perimeter boards, while commentators will share campaign messages during the live broadcast.

The PCB will also publish videos featuring Pakistan players and promote breast cancer awareness through its official social media accounts.

Pink Ribbon Activities and Merchandise

Pink Ribbon activities will begin two hours before the match at Gaddafi Stadium. The activities will engage spectators and highlight the importance of early diagnosis, screening and treatment.

The PCB will also release limited-edition pink-themed travel polo shirts and fan shirts through its official merchandise outlets.

The shirts will be available at the PCB Merchandise Shop at Gaddafi Stadium from Monday, October 19. Fans will also be able to purchase them online through the PCB Merchandise Shop.

The campaign aims to use the match and its broadcast audience to increase awareness of breast cancer across Pakistan and beyond.
