Peshawar Zalmi has announced 3rd edition of Pakistan’s Premier Tape Ball Cricket Tournament, “Kaliwal Zalmi League” in collaboration with GTR who share a joint goal of accelerating cricket development, promoting social activism and giving back to the community.
Kaliwal Zalmi League is a Tape Ball Cricket Tournament targeting the sport at Grass Roots Level engaging all talented cricketers across the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa irrespective of age and background. More than 4000 young cricketers participate in this mega-tournament with more than 500 matches being played out all over KP. Previously, 2 editions of Kaliwal Zalmi League have been completed successfully and now, the third edition of Kaliwal Zalmi League is all set to be kicked off from 7th December, 2023.
The third season will be divided into two phases; phase 1 entails players from each of the thirty-six districts competing against each other to emerge as champion of their district, phase 2 will be the final round where the 8 champions team battle it out for the Championship Title. The whole tournament is expected to be an exhibition of prowess, tactics, and unfettered passion that will have fans at the tip-of their toes.
Speaking about the partnership, Mr. Javed Afridi, Chairman of Peshawar Zalmi, said: “Peshawar Zalmi is always on the lookout for hidden talent in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kaliwal Zalmi League is all about providing an opportunity to young cricketers to show their skills. Kaliwal Zalmi League is scheduled to begin from 7th December, 2023 across all districts in KP while the final round will be hosted in Swat.
