Rishabh Pant Breaks MS Dhoni and Shubman Gill’s Cricket Records

India’s wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant made cricket history in Sri Lanka, breaking MS Dhoni’s run-scoring record for Indian keepers and taking the top spot in India’s World Test Championship run tallies.

Rishabh Pant delivered a remarkable performance during the ongoing Test match against Sri Lanka. He cemented his place among India’s all time cricket greats. The dynamic left hander passed two significant career milestones on the same day, outscoring both legendary former captain MS Dhoni and teammate Shubman Gill.

During his explosive innings, Pant officially surpassed MS Dhoni to become India’s highest run-scoring wicketkeeper-batsman across international formats.

Dhoni previously held the top mark with 4,876 runs as an active keeper. Pant pushed past that total with his signature aggressive batting style against Sri Lanka’s spin attack.

Top Run-Scorer in World Test Championship History

Alongside breaking Dhoni’s wicketkeeping record, Pant also overtook teammate Shubman Gill to become India’s leading run-scorer in the history of the World Test Championship (WTC).

Pant moved ahead of Gill’s tally of 2,225 WTC runs, taking sole possession of first place among Indian batters since the ICC introduced the championship structure.
