Sarfaraz Ahmed Urges Pakistan Players to Take Responsibility Ahead of West Indies 2nd Test

Pakistan red-ball team head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed has called on his players to take greater responsibility as the national side prepares for the second Test against the West Indies following a disappointing defeat in the series opener.

In a recent team meeting, Sarfaraz Ahmed has made a strong statement to the team, reminding them of their roles if Pakistan are to rebound in the series.

“We all have to take responsibility. If players fail to do so, our problems will continue to grow,” Sarfaraz Ahmed reportedly told the team.

The head coach also reminded the players that the West Indies are a competitive side and did not come to Pakistan to lose. He emphasized that the team needs to do better and work to win their next Test match.

Meanwhile, Babar Azam, the Pakistan Test captain, also voiced his concern in the meeting about the side’s frequent blunders. He noted that the batting side still collapses in big moments while the tail-end batters are cumulatively contributing some good runs for their country against Pakistan.

Babar asked his team to take careful note of their form and co-operate to overcome the difficulties encountered in the last Test session before the next one.

Pakistan lost the first Test against the West Indies by 90 runs and were under pressure to even the series.

The second Test between the West Indies and Pakistan will commence on August 2, and Pakistan will be looking to prove they have matured in order to avoid a second failure.
