Shoaib Akhtar Brother Shahid Akhtar Passes Away, Funeral Prayer to Be Held in Islamabad

Islamabad: Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has announced the passing of his elder brother, Shahid Akhtar, leaving family, friends, and fans saddened by the news.

The former cricketer shared the heartbreaking update through his official social media account on X (formerly Twitter). In his post, Shoaib Akhtar informed followers that his beloved brother had passed away and prayed for Allah’s mercy upon him.

“My beloved brother Shahid Akhtar has returned to Allah (SWT),” Shoaib Akhtar wrote in his message.

According to the former Pakistan cricket star, Shahid Akhtar’s funeral prayer (Namaz-e-Janazah) will be offered today after Asr prayers in H-8, Islamabad. Family members, relatives, friends, and well-wishers are expected to attend the funeral.

Following the announcement, social media users, cricket fans, and members of the sports community expressed their condolences and offered prayers for the departed soul. Many supporters shared messages of sympathy for Shoaib Akhtar and his family during this difficult time.

Shoaib Akhtar, popularly known as the “Rawalpindi Express,” is regarded as one of Pakistan’s greatest fast bowlers and remains a prominent figure in the cricket world. The news of his brother’s passing has prompted an outpouring of support from fans across Pakistan and abroad.
