Pakistani badminton player Palwasha Bashir has added another major achievement to her career by winning the Canadian Masters Badminton Championship 2026, bringing international recognition to Pakistan’s sporting talent.
Palwasha was competing in the women’s singles 35+ category and performed well throughout the tournament in Canada. She dominated her matches with experience and control, making it to the final where she faced Canada’s number one player Anna Rice.
Palwasha ‘outplayed’ Anna Rice in a final contest of high intensity to win the championship title in a Masters career highlight.
Over 300 International Players Competed
The tournament was highly competitive and comprised over 300 players from various countries making it an international event, said Palwasha Bashir. She pointed out that the standard of play was very high, with mature players from all over the world playing in various ages.
Although Palwasha is playing on the Masters circuit, she has made it clear that she is not leaving badminton competitions and is intending to continue playing at a professional level at future competitions.

Her win is a great achievement for the badminton community in Pakistan as it demonstrates that the Pakistani sportsmen are continuing to excel in the international arena even in senior and Masters category.
