Elon Musk Mocks Meta in Platform Outage

Elon Musk, the current head of the social media platform X, previously Twitter, recently addressed the widespread disruption of Meta platforms that affected users globally.

Musk’s statement on X, “Our servers are operational if you can view this post,” served as a beacon amidst the digital chaos. His post soon became a hub for memes, as users flocked to X during the Meta platforms’ downtime.

Despite the restoration of Meta platforms after an hour, Musk continued his posts on X, subtly poking fun at the outage. During the disruption, users attempting to access Instagram were met with the message, “Something went wrong,” barring them from the photo-sharing platform.

Simultaneously, Facebook and Messenger users found themselves logged out, with their sessions expired. Attempts to log back into Facebook were met with an error message, leaving them unable to regain access.

In a notable post, Musk shared a tweet from Andy Stone, Meta Communications’ head, expressing his displeasure, accompanied by an image of three penguins donning the Meta logo, applauding a penguin sporting the X logo.

According to DownDetector, the outage affected over 200,000 Americans on Facebook, with an additional 30,000 experiencing issues on Messenger, and 8,000 unable to access Facebook Messenger.

The incident sparked a wave of internet humor, with many expressing their admiration for X and joking about the influx of social media users to the platform during the outage.
