India deployed the newly purchased Russian S-400 defence missile system earlier this week.

According to foreign media, the S-400 system has been deployed to counter threats from Pakistan and China.

It will be able to deal and withstand airborne threats from China and Pakistan.

The defence system provided to India is the S-400 Triumph. It is capable of destroying incoming missiles at designated locations.

Sources familiar with the matter said, the deliveries of the defence system will be completed by the end of this week.

A report released by the Indian armed forces stated that the air force will provide resources for training the missile system personnel.

Several Indian Air Force officers and personnel have already received training to use the system in Russia.

Earlier this month, on Dec 6, Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said Russia had begun S-400 deliveries to the country.
