Aitekaf to resume in Saudi Arabia after two years

As the coming of Ramadan is near, Muslims all around the world are preparing for the significant religious occasion of the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. Saudi Arabia has permitted Aitekaaf to be observed at the grand mosque Makkah and Medina. An announcement was made by Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, head of the General Presidency for the Affairs. An official permit will also be released soon.

Saudia Arabia suspended the ritual of Aitekaf at the two grand mosques due to the covid 19 pandemic and its situations. The ritual has been revived again where it was suspended in 2021 in the month of Ramadan in Saudi Arabia due to the outbreak of covid 19.

More than one lakh believers used to perform Aitekaf during the two mosques on the last day of Ramzan. In 2019 the administration allowed personal shelves and safes with a locker to keep their separate belongings like a prayer rug, ihram clothes, bed sheets, and pillow.
