Italy Jobs for Pakistanis: 10,500 Work Visa Quota Announced for Next 3 Years

Italy has announced a special quota of 10,500 jobs for Pakistani workers over the next three years, marking a significant development in labour mobility between the two countries.
The statement was issued at a ceremony marking the Italian National Day and Italian Republic Day in the city of Islamabad by the outgoing Italian Ambassador to Pakistan Marilina Armellin.
Rising opportunities for Pakistani workers and students
The ambassador noted that Italy has also granted over 3,200 Study Visa to the Pakistani students for the 2025-26 academic year, underlining the increasing educational collaboration and intra-personal exchanges between Italy and Pakistan.
The move was part of the government’s wider strategy to enhance legal migration routes and increase the availability of skilled jobs for Pakistanis in Europe, officials said.
Pakistan–Italy relations expanding across sectors
Pakistan and Italy have continued to enjoy good diplomatic relations and cooperate in various fields including trade, culture, science and technology, defence, and education. There are already several agreements, memoranda of understanding, and ongoing academic collaborations between the two countries.
Pakistan’s diplomatic presence in Rome has also been emphasizing employment opportunities for the workers under the organized programmes, including the recently-discussed quota scheme.
Zardari extends greetings on Italy’s Republic Day
President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday greeted the President of Italy and Italian people on the occasion of Republic Day, also celebrated on 2nd June.
He expressed Pakistan’s deep appreciation for the long-standing friendship with Italy built on mutual trust and cooperation and mutual aspirations for peace and development.
He also expressed confidence that bilateral relations between Pakistan and Italy would continue to deepen in the coming years, particularly in trade, migration, and educational cooperation.
Growing Pakistan–EU engagement
President Zardari further highlighted Pakistan’s broader engagement with the European Union, appreciating Italy’s constructive role in supporting stronger regional and international cooperation frameworks.
