Protests Against The Israeli Embassy In Bahrain

Anti-Israel protests erupted in Bahrain on Friday, a day after Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid visited the opening of the Jewish state’s first embassy in the country.

Tears gas shells have fired during a rally because small scale protests around the small Gulf state.

Protesters waved Palestinian and Bahraini flags. They were chanting “Death to Israel” and “No to the Israeli embassy in Islamic Bahrain.

Lipid’s visit on Thursday came a year after Bahrain normalized relations with Israel, breaking decades of Arab consensus that relations should not be resolved without a solution to the Palestinian problem.

UAE, Sudan and Morocco have also established ties known as the Abraham Accords with US broker agreements.

“His great leadership and encouragement have led to real cooperation and our meeting has paved the way forward for our relationship,” Lipid said on Twitter after landing in Bahrain.

A visit to the Bahrain headquarters of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet, which has encountered Iranian ships during tensions over Tehran’s regional goals, said our three countries work together because we have common interests in the region.

Lipid’s office said it and its Bahraini counterpart had signed cooperation agreements in the fields of medicine, healthcare, sports and water and environmental protection. Lipid also inaugurated the Israeli embassy in Manama.
