Riyadh Air warns jobseekers of scams asking for payment

Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia’s upcoming airline, has issued a warning to job seekers about fraudulent websites and links that ask for payment or bank details for job applications. The airline said it would never request any payments or personal bank details during the application process.

The airline, which backed by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), the kingdom’s sovereign wealth fund, is seeking pilots, cabin crew, and administrative staff for its 2025 launch. It has received an overwhelming number of applicants since it officially launched.

However, it has also noticed that some fraudsters have been trying to exploit the applicants by asking them to pay monetary fees when applying for jobs at Riyadh Air through unofficial channels or websites.

The airline has clarified that it will only engage with potential applicants through official channels, such as its website, social media, and authorized recruitment agencies. It has advised the applicants to be aware of scams and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.

Riyadh Air is one of the ambitious projects of the PIF, which aims to diversify the kingdom’s economy and create jobs. The airline recently ordered up to 72 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner planes and plans to connect millions of travelers to over 100 destinations by 2030. It aims to create over 200,000 jobs directly and indirectly.

Saudi Arabia already owns Saudia, formerly known as Saudi Arabian Airlines, which has been in operation since 1945 and serves major routes across the world.
