2022 Lexus LX 600 Officially Revealed With Redesigned Interior and V6 Engine

The third-generation Lexus LX officially retires after 14 years of production as an all-new 2022 Lexus LX 600 makes its debut. The new SUV brings improvements in all departments from its previous generation LX 570. The new platform allows them to shed 200 KG of weight, making it lighter and faster. Lexus LX shares its platform with Toyota Land Cruiser, but it offers more luxury features. The new LX 600 is powered by a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 that produces 409 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. The engine is similar to the one found in the new Toyota Tundra and the Lexus LS500. It is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission with a two-speed transfer case that transfers power to all four wheels.

The redesigned platform offers significant weight reductions as well as increased stiffness. The new platform is 20 percent stiffer than the previous one. Moreover, the engineers also managed to decrease the center of gravity, resulting in more predictable and stable handling both on and off the road. The style is pretty much what everyone expects, with a side profile that indicates the LX is closely related to its more conventional Toyota counterpart. The Lexus’ quarter glass and back pillar are somewhat different, but the remainder of the profile is nearly identical. The notable differences on the outside include a large spindle grille in the front and a wide LED light bar in the back, as well as more lavish use of chrome.

Lexus LX 600 Interior

With a new dual-screen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster, the cabin improves significantly over the outdated LX 570. The LX 600 will also be available in an Ultra Luxury variant, with a spacious back seat and a plethora of luxury amenities for the rear passengers. Lexus appears to be launching a counter-offensive against high-end off-roaders like the Range Rover Autobiography.

Driving Modes

In terms of driving modes, there’s a new Auto mode that uses data from various sensors to estimate road conditions while driving and adjust vehicle systems like brake pressure, driving force, and suspension control accordingly, so the driver doesn’t have to change the mode every time the surface changes. There are also crawl and hill assist features.

Availability and Variants

The 2022 LX 600 will be available at dealerships in the first quarter of 2022, with five grades to select from, including an F Sport option with a Torsen limited-slip differential. The F Sport model isn’t the only one new to the LX lineup. The third option is Ultra Luxury, which replaces the second row with two seats. The new LX will not have third-row seats, according to Lexus.

2022 Lexus LX 600 Price

There’s still a lot we don’t know about the LX 600, most notably its price, though the 2021 LX 570 costs $88,275. 2022 LX 600 pricing information might get out closer to its market launch.
