FIA to Investigate MDCAT 2023 Paper Leak

In a recent development, the Sindh High Court (SHC) has taken a proactive stance on the controversy surrounding the National Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2023. Following the leakage of the exam question paper on social media, concerned students have sought justice through legal channels, prompting the SHC to issue notices to Dow University and other relevant parties.

Expressing deep concern over the incident, students argued that this is the second time the MDCAT paper has leaked, and no one held accountable for the alleged crime. In response to these claims, the SHC has initiated an inquiry, signaling a commitment to uphold the integrity of the medical admissions process.

The plea submitted by the students emphasizes the gravity of the situation, stating, “The authorities are playing with our future.” The SHC has scheduled the next hearing for December 14, calling on Dow University and other respondents to submit their replies. This move reflects a swift and decisive approach to address the concerns raised by the affected students.

Health Minister Saad Khalid, in a recent statement, confirmed the findings of an investigation committee that unequivocally established the veracity of the MDCAT 2023 paper leak. In response to the conclusive evidence, the decision to conduct a retest made to ensure the fairness and transparency of the examination process.

Moreover, Minister Khalid has recommended involving the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in overseeing the inquiry, underlining the government’s commitment to a thorough and unbiased investigation. This step aims to identify those responsible for the leak and take appropriate legal action against them.
