HEC Announces PhD Scholarships 2027 for Pakistani Students in Top 100 U.S. Universities

Pakistani students planning to pursue higher education in the United States have a valuable opportunity as the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor PhD Scholarships 2027 for admissions to the top 100 universities in the United States.

The scholarship program is designed to help talented students from Pakistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) obtain fully or partially funded PhD education at globally recognized U.S. universities.

HEC Announces PhD Scholarships for Top 100 U.S. Universities

According to HEC, the scholarships are available for Pakistani and AJK citizens who have completed at least 16 years of education, including a four-year bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification. Applicants must have a strong academic record without any second or third division throughout their educational career and must not be receiving financial assistance from any other scholarship program.

The maximum age limit is 35 years for general candidates. However, government employees, faculty members of public universities, and researchers can apply up to the age of 40 years.

Scholarship Categories and Financial Benefits

HEC has introduced two scholarship categories based on the QS World University Rankings 2027.

For students admitted to the Top 50 U.S. universities, the scholarship covers:

• Full tuition fee
• Annual stipend of US$19,200
• Annual health insurance allowance of US$2,000

For students admitted to universities ranked 51 to 100, the scholarship includes:

• Up to US$12,000 per year in tuition fees
• Annual stipend of US$19,200
• Annual health insurance allowance of US$2,000

Eligibility Criteria for HEC US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor Scholarships

To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must first secure admission to an eligible U.S. university. They are also required to achieve either a minimum GRE score of 300 or at least 60% marks in the HEC Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT).

HEC has clarified that the scholarship is available only for direct PhD programs. Students applying for Master’s leading to PhD programs are not eligible under this scheme.

HEC Scholarship 2027 Application Deadline

The application deadline for Spring/Summer 2027 admissions is October 30, 2026, while applications for Fall 2027 admissions must be submitted by March 30, 2027.

All applications must be submitted through the official HEC online portal, and the eligibility of universities will be determined according to the QS World University Rankings 2027.
