Private educational institutions in Islamabad are set to reopen today, January 6, 2025, following the end of winter vacations. The notification for reopening has been issued by the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA).
No Extension in Winter Breaks
According to Abdul Waheed Khan, Secretary General of the Private Schools Association, there is no plan to extend the winter holidays. He emphasized that due to previous disruptions caused by protests and sit-ins, students have already lost valuable academic time.
Winter Uniform Guidelines for Students
Parents have been advised to ensure their children wear warm uniforms, jackets, or sweaters to school to protect them from the chilly weather. Abdul Waheed Khan added that private school administrations have decided not to impose additional financial burdens on parents despite rising inflation.
Winter Vacation Details
PEIRA had previously announced winter vacations for private schools and colleges in Islamabad from December 21, 2024, to January 5, 2025. Following this schedule, academic activities in private institutions will resume as planned from today.
Commitment to Education
The decision to reopen schools on time underscores the commitment of Islamabad’s private schools to maintain an uninterrupted academic calendar. Parents and students are encouraged to prepare for the resumption of studies as schools strive to recover lost learning time.
