Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam: The Conclusion Releases on October 2, Crosses 1.1 Million Tickets

Drishyam: The Conclusion hits cinemas on October 2, the date that has become closely tied to the franchise’s most famous mystery. The final film has already sold more than 1.1 million tickets as it targets a major Rs 500 million opening.

The third and final Hindi film in the Drishyam franchise opens worldwide on Friday, October 2. The release also falls on Gandhi Jayanti, giving the film a national holiday boost in India.

Trade analysts expect the film to target around Rs 500 million on its opening day, which could make it the biggest opening of Devgn’s career.

Why October 2 Matters

The release date carries a familiar connection for Drishyam fans. In the original film, Vijay Salgaonkar builds his family’s alibi around October 2 after a death leaves his family in trouble, claiming they were away on a family trip on that date.

The date became one of the most recognizable details of the franchise. Devgn also pointed to the connection when announcing the final film, writing that the story that began on October 2 would also end on October 2.

More Than 1.1 Million Tickets Sold

The film has already recorded strong advance demand.

Industry tracker Sacnilk reported around Rs 39.37 crore in gross advance bookings, including blocked seats, across six show dates. Without blocked seats, the figure stood at around Rs 30.05 crore.

Opening-day bookings had crossed Rs 20 crore, while more than 11 lakh tickets had been sold across around 36,000 shows. At least 85 shows had already sold out.

Final Chapter Brings Back Familiar Faces

Abhishek Pathak returns as director after Drishyam 2. Devgn returns as Vijay Salgaonkar alongside Tabu, Shriya Saran and Rajat Kapoor.

Prakash Raj also joins the cast, while Jaideep Ahlawat appears in a new role.

The first Drishyam opened at Rs 5.85 crore in 2015. Drishyam 2 opened at Rs 15.38 crore in 2022 and earned Rs 104.66 crore in its first week.

The Hindi films are remakes of the Malayalam Drishyam films starring Mohanlal. That franchise has also continued with Drishyam 3, while a fourth instalment has been confirmed.
