Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff escaped unharmed after gunmen opened fire at his vehicle in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening, October 18. His driver and a bystander sustained injuries.
Police are investigating the shooting and checking a social media claim linking the attack to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
The incident occurred around 7 p.m. as Shroff was leaving a football club in Juhu. Videos circulating online appear to show at least two gunmen firing several shots at the front passenger side of a slowly moving car.
Mumbai Zone-II Deputy Commissioner of Police Mohit Garg said Shroff’s driver, identified as Firdaus, suffered an injury to his left hand. A bystander identified as Chauhan was also wounded. Both were taken for medical treatment, according to local media reports.
Maharashtra Government Orders Investigation
Maharashtra Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis directed Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti to investigate the incident and take action against those responsible.
Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Shroff after the shooting. He said the actor and his mother were shaken by the attack and warned that threats against the film industry would not be tolerated.
A social media post reportedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the shooting. Police have not confirmed the claim and are verifying its authenticity as part of the investigation.
