Miss World Uganda’s Gown Honors Motherhood and Childbirth

Miss World Uganda, Trivia Elle Muhoza, debuted a custom couture gown in Vietnam inspired by the seven anatomical layers of a C-section, celebrating motherhood and the physical reality of childbirth.

Contestants wore couture designs on Thursday, August 27, as part of the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest’s 17th edition, themed “Soul of Heritage.”

The “Layers of Life” Design Concept

Designed by Keesha Abdallah for the World Designer Award at the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest, the gown titled “The Layers of Life” draws directly from a new mother’s personal experience and medical diagrams of a Caesarean section.

Abdallah also shared that she drew inspiration from her own journey of motherhood.

Anatomical Representation

The dress uses layered tulle, stretch satin, pearls, and glass beads to represent the seven stages cut through during surgery: skin, fat, fascia, rectus muscles, peritoneum, uterus muscle, and the amniotic sac.

Color and Texture

An ombré palette shifting through peach, gold, coral, red, maroon, and burgundy symbolizes the physical and emotional transition of bringing life into the world, independent of race.
