Gangubai Kathiawadi is a biographical film. Which is based on the life of Gangubai Harjivandas, a courtesan, and her journey of how she became a prominent gang face of India.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is the director of the film. The story is by Hussain Zaidi in his book called: Mafia Queens of Mumbai. That contributed to the idea of the film.
