Hajj 2023 Begins as Millions of Muslims Arrive in Mina

The annual Hajj pilgrimage has commenced today, as pilgrims arrived at the holy site of Mina before the afternoon prayer. Mina has prepared with a tent city to accommodate the pilgrims, who will spend the night there before proceeding to the next phase of the pilgrimage.

More than 1.6 million pilgrims from around the world have converged in the sacred lands of Hijaz this year to fulfill the obligatory duty of Hajj.

Pilgrims, after performing the Fajr (dawn) prayer on Tuesday, made their way from Mina to the vast plain of Arafat. This pillar of Hajj, known as the “Wuquf of Arafat,” will observed on Tuesday.

A temporary tent city has been set up in Mina to cater to the needs of the pilgrims during their stay. The tents provide shelter, facilities, and amenities to ensure a comfortable and safe experience for the pilgrims.

Pilgrims will spend the night in Mina, engaging in prayers and supplications, reflecting on the spiritual significance of the journey ahead. This period of contemplation and devotion allows pilgrims to mentally prepare themselves for the next stages of the Hajj.

The main ritual of the day is the Wuquf of Arafat, where pilgrims gather in the vast plain of Arafat, seeking forgiveness, mercy, and spiritual elevation. This pillar symbolizes the core essence of Hajj, emphasizing unity, humility, and devotion to God.
