How to Bring Zamzam Water After Hajj? New Airline Baggage Policy Explained for Pilgrims

Airlines have issued a new policy regarding baggage allowance and the distribution of Zamzam water for pilgrims returning after performing Hajj, aiming to streamline airport procedures and ensure smooth travel arrangements for thousands of returning passengers.

Zamzam Water Rules for Returning Pilgrims

According to the official announcement, pilgrims will not be allowed to carry Zamzam water in their personal luggage. Rather, the distribution will take place by the following special arrangements:

  • Pakistani pilgrims will receive 5 liters of Zamzam water upon arrival at airports in Pakistan
  • Passengers traveling via Saudi airlines will collect Zamzam water directly at Saudi airports before departure

This system has been put in place to ensure the consistency and to prevent problems with baggage in transit.

Baggage Allowance for Hajj Travelers

The policy also specifies new baggage limits for pilgrims on their way back:

  • 40 kg checked baggage allowed for passengers traveling via Pakistani government and private airlines
  • 46 kg checked baggage allowed for passengers traveling via Saudi airlines
  • 7 kg hand-carry luggage allowance remains unchanged for all passengers

The limits are set to facilitate handling of the luggage during the peak return operations during the Hajj.

Authorities Urge Pilgrims to Follow Rules

Pilgrims were reminded to adhere to the new regulations on baggage and Zamzam water by hajj management authorities. Officials emphasized the importance of compliance to prevent delays, ease the congestion at airports, and facilitate a smooth and organized return of all travelers.

The new policy is in line with the general arrangements put in place to ensure better facilitation of the pilgrims who return home safely and better travel services during the Hajj.
