Pakistan’s digital wallet platform, Easypaisa, has introduced the New Gen account. It allows parents to open digital financial accounts for children and teenagers.
Pakistan’s top digital wallet app Easypaisa launched its “New Gen” account to help young users learn modern financial management. This new service allows parents to set up secure sub-accounts for their children through their main smartphone app. It gives teenagers aged 12 to 17 controlled access to basic electronic payment tools.
Key Features and Available Services
With the New Gen account children can access digital financial services under parental supervision. Teenagers can perform mobile top-ups, send money, manage basic savings and make payments through QR codes. Each parent can open a maximum of two New Gen accounts.
Step-by-Step Account Opening Process
Parents can complete the account registration in a few steps.
- Open Easypaisa app.
- Go to main profile menu.
- Select the Open New Gen Account option
- Enter mobile number, Form B or CNIC number and issuance date of the child’s document.
- Submit
- The child logs into the app on their phone, sets up a private PIN code, and starts using the wallet.
What Happens When the Account Holder Turns 18?
When the user turns 18 debit transactions on the New Gen account pause until identity records are updated. The user must log into the Easypaisa app and update their profile using their valid adult CNIC details. Once verified, the account converts into a full standard adult digital wallet.
