Why Didn’t Apple Launch the iPhone 18 This Year?

Market experts report that Apple is shifting to a split release schedule. Instead of launching all new phones at the same time, the company plans to introduce the regular iPhone 18 and other cheaper models in the spring of 2027.

Why the Standard Model is Delayed

Industry reports point to a few main reasons for this choice

• Apple is saving advanced new parts, like the ultra-fast 2nm computer chips, for the more expensive Pro models first.
• Releasing phones in both autumn and spring helps Apple make steady money throughout the year rather than relying mostly on holiday winter sales.
• Giving the expensive phones their own launch event keeps the focus on Apple’s top products without them competing against cheaper models.
