Government has applied more GST on CNG price in Pakistan. Price of CNG has gone up to Rs 200 per kg. CNG Association terms hike in GST as an unfair and unjustified move by government.
GST on CNG has surged across the country. The new CNG price in Pakistan is hiked to 200 per kg. The price of compressed natural gas has risen further across the country. The federal government on Tuesday hiked the general sales tax by Rs 10.5 per kg.
According to the Federal Board of Revenue, a notification in this regard has been issued. It is using the powers vested in sub-section (8) of section 3 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, including the rate of GST on CNG.
The All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) has rejected the government’s notification in this regard. According to their saying that raising taxes is a very unfair and unjustified move.
The price of CNG has been increased by 33.33% or Rs 50 per kg.
After the recent increase in GST, the price of CNG in Karachi increased to Rs. 200 per kg. However, price of CNG in Punjab increased by Rs. 6, 89 paise per liter to Rs. 140 per liter.
