Govt Approves “Mariam Ko Batayen” Program: Citizens to Receive Up to Rs10,000 Cash

The Punjab government has approved a major relief initiative under the “Mariam Ko Batayen” program, under which eligible citizens will receive cash assistance of up to Rs10,000.
The provincial government has budgeted up to Rs1 billion for the scheme, which is intended to provide immediate financial relief and enhance the public complaint response system, official information states.
Rs1 Billion Allocated for Citizen Relief Program
The Planning and Development Board has said that the programme will run till the full budget of one billion rupees can be shared between beneficiaries, as a result of circulation of the approval.
The government too has approved changes in eligibility criteria and funding mechanism to improve the targeting and transparency in disbursement of the framework under revision.
Cash Assistance Through App and Helpline
In this regard, citizens will be able to get financial support up to Rs10,000 via “Mariam Ko Batayen” mobile application and a dedicated helpline service.
The program is intended to offer immediate economic assistance and also to enhance public issues solution, taking prompt motion.
Focus on Faster Complaint Resolution
In addition to cash assistance, the measure will improve the effectiveness of the public grievance system, officials said. The vision is to provide citizens with quicker responses and better services via digital channels.
Program to Continue Until Full Fund Utilization
Authorities confirmed that the scheme will be ongoing till the entire Rs1 billion allocation is exhausted. There are also plans to improve monitoring and distribution systems to enhance the fairness and transparency of implementation.
