The Ministry of Interior has introduced a unified police character certificate system across Pakistan, aiming to streamline the verification process for overseas travel, employment, and other official requirements.
An official statement says records from all provinces, including Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, as well as Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, have now been digitised and brought together in one centralized digital platform. It is being carried out with the support of the National Police Bureau, under the ministry of Interior.
Citizens will no longer have to get separate police character certificate from various provinces, officials said. Rather, a single certificate will be provided via the national system that accesses information from a single citizens’ database.
The system has also been fully computerized, providing for quick processing, less paperwork, and online access. Officials feel this change will greatly cut application delays and ease Pakistanis’ hassles while applying for jobs in foreign countries or getting travel documents.
Key Features of the New System
- Single national platform for character certificates
- Integration of all provincial police records
- Online application and processing
- Faster verification and reduced processing time
- Elimination of multiple provincial certificates

Citizens can apply through the new unified system using the following process:

- Verification Process
- Police records from across the country are checked through the centralized database.

The system will be further improved with more automation and integration, officials said, making it easier to have citizens get essential documents without having to go to several offices.
