Govt Warns PTI of Using “Other Options” If Sept 27 March Not Stopped

Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry has warned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf against proceeding with its September 27 Islamabad march, stating the state will use “other options” if peaceful legal options fail.

During a private TV show, ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath,’ Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that the federal government wants to end the political disagreement using peaceful and legal ways. However, he warned that security forces will stop anyone who tries to forcefully enter Islamabad without permission.

Highlighting past political rallies, Chaudhry claimed that state intelligence reports suggest the next protest could become violent instead of peaceful. He repeated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s offer for talks remains open, inviting opposition leaders to meet at their desired venue to find a middle ground.

PTI Rejects Negotiations

During the same show, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafi dismissed the government’s dialogue offer. Responding to the remarks, he asserted that past negotiation attempts ended in deadlocks. He also denied the party’s involvement in any previous violent incidents.

The minister confirmed that preparations for the September 27 protest remain unchanged. He insisted that around two million protesters will join the march under K-P Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s leadership to press for the release of party founder Imran Khan.
