In light of the upcoming rain forecast by the Meteorological Department, Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) is taking proactive steps under the leadership of its Chief Operating Officer, Asadullah Khan. The Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah, has declared a rain emergency, triggering immediate action from KW&SC.
A key meeting was held today, presided over by the Chief Minister and attended by the Mayor of Karachi. The agenda was to strategize for the expected rain. Asadullah Khan confirmed that the water board has efficiently implemented all the Chief Minister’s directives.
In preparation for the rainfall, 53 suction machines have been deployed at critical locations throughout the city. Khan also assured that power backups are in place to maintain the continuous operation of all water pumping stations during potential power outages. Adequate diesel reserves have been stored at sewage pumping stations to ensure uninterrupted service under any circumstances.
The entire KW&SC team, especially those in sewage management, are on standby, ready to respond to the anticipated rainfall. Khan reiterated KW&SC’s dedication to serving the citizens 24/7 and their readiness to manage any rain-related situations.
