Lalukhet Bird Market Shut Down by Karachi Administration

In a significant move, the district administration of Karachi, in collaboration with the Anti Encroachment Force of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), has successfully dismantled the unauthorized bird bazaar that was a regular Sunday feature in the Liaquatabad area. This illicit market had been a long-standing issue, causing traffic congestion and inconvenience to local residents.

The operation initiated on the instructions of Karachi’s Commissioner, Syed Hassan Naqvi. He directed Deputy Commissioner (DC) Central, Fuad Ghaffar, to take stringent measures against such unlawful markets that were disrupting the traffic flow in the area.

Following the directive, a team assembled, including AC Liaquatabad Nadeem Aurangzeb, the Director of the Anti-Encroachment Force, and members of the KMC’s Traffic Police. The team launched a successful operation, resulting in the complete removal of the unauthorized bird market.

Post the successful operation, DC Central submitted a compliance report to Commissioner Karachi, confirming the eradication of the bird market. The Assistant Commissioner of the area issued a stern warning to the organizer of the illegal bird market and the bird sellers, cautioning them against reopening the market in the future.

Commissioner Naqvi has strictly instructed all Deputy Commissioners to prevent the establishment of such illegal markets in their respective areas. He emphasized the need for action against encroachments that obstruct the smooth flow of traffic in the city.

This decisive action against the unauthorized bird bazaar not only alleviates traffic issues but also ensures a more peaceful environment for the residents of Karachi’s Liaquatabad area.
