Nasla Tower Demolition: Six companies are ready to demolish the building

Six demolition companies have proposed to the District East administration to demolish the Nasla Tower.  97% of the tower has already been vacated.

As per report District East Office will interview the companies before finalizing a plan to demolish the Nasla Tower.

Commissioner Karachi formed committee of 8 members to review about companies. It will check the interest sought from various companies for demolition of the tower in a controlled manner.

The meeting of the committee held on Monday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner East Asif Jan Siddiqui. Representative of Sindh Police, SBCA, KMC and FWO, and many other attended the meeting.

The Lahore-based company is the only one that has agreed to demolish the building in a controlled manner. It works closely with a foreign company. Batool shared that in order to use the controlled implantation method, the company would do pre-demolition work that would take at least 120 days.

She explained that the SBCA had not issued a certificate of completion to the Nasla Tower. No one could say how safe it would be to blow up the building.

Nasla Tower management confirm 97% of the building has vacated. There were 39 families, 34 to 35 of whom have left the building. However some of these families had rented out elsewhere and the rest had moved in with relatives.

Electricity and water connections have already cut off. Residents are finding new shelter and homes to shift. They have not yet received a payment from builders. Checkout the complete interview of the residents of Nasla tower after the courts order of demolition.
