Pakistan International Airlines has rolled out a new Air-to-Rail ticketing service as part of its post-privatization shift. The move lets international passengers book flights and onward train journeys on a single ticket, starting with routes in the UK and Canada, under PIA’s 2026 digital plan.
Pakistan International Airlines has launched its new PIA air to rail tickets service, marking one of the first visible changes after privatization. The airline now lets passengers combine air and train travel in one booking.
What Is the PIA Air-to-Rail Service?
The PIA air to rail tickets option allows passengers flying to major international hubs in UK and Canada to add an onward train journey to their booking. One ticket covers both segments. You avoid local rail counters, apps, and last-minute confusion.
PIA has linked the service to its 2026 modernization plan. The airline wants full digital integration under its new private ownership by the Arif Habib Group consortium.
Right now, the service focuses on the United Kingdom and Canada.
In the UK, passengers landing at London Heathrow or Manchester can connect by train to over 50 cities. These include Birmingham, Edinburgh, and Glasgow.
In Canada, arrivals at Toronto Pearson can continue by rail to eight major cities. The list includes Ottawa, Montreal, and Kingston.
PIA confirmed it will expand the network later, based on demand.
However, there’s no fixed price for PIA air-to-rail tickets. Fares change by city and booking time. The rail cost comes bundled into the airfare. The airline says this often costs less than buying a train ticket at arrival.
How to Book PIA Air to Rail Tickets
You can book PIA air to rail tickets through the PIA website, mobile app, city offices, or registered travel agents. Just enter your final rail destination in the “To” field.
PIA wants travel to feel continuous. This service shows how the airline plans to deliver it.
