Prime Minister Relief Package Extends Till June for Utility Stores

In a strategic move aimed at supporting citizens, Prime Minister has decided to extend the relief package for utility stores. This decision comes after the conclusion of the Ramadan package, ensuring continued benefits for consumers.

Under this initiative, subsidies will be sustained on five crucial commodities: sugar, flour, ghee, pulses, and rice, specifically benefiting BISP beneficiaries. Sugar will be available at utility stores for BISP beneficiaries at a subsidized rate of 109 rupees per kilogram.

The Prime Minister’s relief package allocates approximately 3 billion rupees monthly towards subsidies, making essential items more affordable for the masses. Flour, essential for daily consumption, will be accessible to BISP beneficiaries in 10-kilogram bags at a discounted price of 648 rupees.

Moreover, ghee, a staple in many households, has been priced at 393 rupees per kilogram for BISP beneficiaries. Additionally, pulses and rice will receive subsidies of 25 rupees per kilogram, further easing the burden on consumers.

Utility stores are committed to continuing this beneficial package until June 2024, ensuring stability and relief for households. The federal government will subsequently decide on extending the package for the next fiscal year, reflecting a dedication to supporting citizens’ welfare.

This extension of the relief package showcases the government’s proactive approach in addressing economic challenges and providing essential support to the public during these times.
