Rawalpindi Metro Bus Service Partially Suspended Today as Punjab Observes Local Holiday

The Punjab government is observing a local holiday today, while the Rawalpindi Metro Bus Service has been partially suspended due to the Chehlum procession of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).
According to the Punjab government, district offices and all departments working under the Deputy Commissioner (DC) remain closed today. Local holiday has been observed on the occasion of the annual Urs of Data Sahib.
The holiday is not applicable to the Punjab Civil Secretariat, autonomous institutes or regional offices, however, and these offices will operate normally. The official notification in this regard has been issued by Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD).
In the meantime, the Rawalpindi district administration has made special traffic arrangements for Chehlum and parts of the Metro Bus service in Rawalpindi have been suspended today.
Metro Bus officials state the buses are still suspended between Saddar Station and Faizabad. However, the service from IJP Road Station to Pak Secretariat is operating normally.
The passengers from Rawalpindi and Islamabad have been advised to make travel plans in advance and if needed take alternative transportation so as to save the inconvenience as traffic advisory has been issued by the district administration.
The temporary suspension is to be expected to continue until later today while security and traffic management are in place for the Chehlum procession.
