Pakistan clinched the three-match Test series 2-1 against England, wrapping up the Rawalpindi Test in just the first session of the third day. Pakistan’s spinners outshined again, leading the team to a 9-wicket victory.
England struggled from the start, facing a tough time against Pakistani bowlers. On day three, the visitors were bundled out for just 112 runs in their second innings. They had ended the previous day at 24 for 3, and Pakistan didn’t waste time getting the job done. England’s collapse began early, with Harry Brook falling to Nauman Ali for 26, making it 66 for 4. Ben Stokes soon followed, getting dismissed at 70 runs for just 3 runs, again by Nauman.
The English middle order continued to crumble as Sajid Khan bowled Jamie Smith for 3 at 75 runs. Joe Root’s dismissal for 33 by Nauman left England at 85 for 7. The last few wickets fell swiftly, with Sajid taking two more at 97 and 106, and Nauman Ali cleaning up the tail at 112, finishing with an impressive 6 wickets while Sajid took 4.
Pakistan needed just 36 runs to seal the win. They chased the target in 3.1 overs, losing only one wicket. Saim Ayub fell for 8, but Shan Masood and Abdullah Shafique saw it through, staying unbeaten at 23 and 5, respectively.
The Rawalpindi win came after Pakistan’s earlier victory in the second Test, while England had taken the first Test in Multan. In the final match, Pakistan fielded Saim Ayub, Shan Masood, Abdullah Shafique, and others, while England made changes, bringing in Gus Atkinson and Shoaib Bashir.
