Dubai Immigration Launches New Support Centre for Visa Issues, Stranded Foreigners

Dubai Immigration has introduced a new support centre to help foreigners facing visa issues, residency problems, or other immigration-related difficulties in the emirate.

Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Dubai Immigration Director General, announced this during a press briefing with senior officials. He advised that any person facing visa or residency issues could visit the Al Awir Centre and lodge their grievance so they can be assisted.

The new facility will serve as temporary lodging for people who do not have anywhere to go, the authorities said. Food will also be distributed to the needy and free medical check-ups and dental treatment will also be provided at the centre.

The move is also intended to help people wishing to travel to their home countries if they have encountered difficulties in departing, Dubai Immigration noted.

Moreover, an exclusive centre is created for the guidance of stranded tourists and job seekers in Dubai. The immigration experts will give legal counsel, information, and even hands-on help in addressing their case.

Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri said that those who come to Dubai looking for work are valuable visitors and the government is committed to responding to their concerns. He urged individuals who are facing any issues due to immigration to reach out to the relevant support centre as soon as possible for prompt assistance.
