Hajj 2020: Saudi Arabia may drastically reduce pilgrims

During the Hajj 2020, the significant reduction is expected in the number of pilgrims.

After the Coronavirus, Saudi Arabia is thinking to limit the number of Hajj 2020 pilgrims. However, it is noted that the total number of Coronavirus cases in Saudi Arabia now crossed 100,000.

Each year, around 2.5 million pilgrims come Medina and Mecca for the week long Hajj. According to reports, Saudi Arabia earns $12 billion per year. In March, the country asked pilgrims to put Hajj plans on hold and also suspended Umrah till the further notice.

According to reports, Saudi Arabia is now considering allowing just symbolic numbers in year 2020, along with ban on elder pilgrims and other health restrictions.

The concerned authorities believe that it might be possible to allow upto twenty percent of each countrys quota of pilgrims. However, some officials are still pushing for the Hajjs cancellation.
