Saudi Arabia Approves Unified National Visa Platform for Faster, Simpler Visa Services

Saudi Arabia has approved the establishment of a Unified National Visa Platform under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), marking a major step toward modernizing and centralizing visa services across the Kingdom. The decision was announced during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah.

The approved platform will become the official national visa portal for Saudi Arabia, consolidating all the visa-related services under a single digital platform. The move is likely to make visa applications easier and more efficient, boost security, and contribute to the Kingdom’s ongoing digital transformation under Vision 2030.

Saudi Cabinet Approves National Visa Platform

In the Cabinet meeting, the government confirmed that the platform will be the focal point for Saudi visas and all the services linked to it through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The initiative is designed to make the journey easier and more efficient for travellers, businesses, investors and visitors and enhance the inter-agency coordination.

The announcement is part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to invest in digital government services and its dedication to delivering faster and more efficient public services.

Visa Exemption Agreements with Three Countries

The Saudi Cabinet also approved agreements with Hungary, Kazakhstan and Poland, which allow holders of diplomatic, service and special passports to enter the country without visas.

The agreements thought to improve diplomatic relations and make official relations easier between Saudi Arabia and the three countries.

Saudi Arabia Highlights Global Leadership

The Cabinet reviewed Saudi Arabia’s recent international achievements and praised the Kingdom’s growing role in global cooperation, technology, and security.

Among the key highlights:

• Saudi Arabia reaffirmed its commitment to combating terrorism during the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Week.
• The UN Human Rights Council unanimously adopted a Saudi-led resolution focused on empowering women in cybersecurity.
• Saudi Arabia ranked first globally in the 2026 ICT Development Index, reflecting significant progress in digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence.
• The Kingdom retained its position as the largest digital economy in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
• Saudi Arabia re-elected as president of the Executive Council of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization for a second consecutive term.
• The World Bank praised Saudi Arabia’s AI regulatory sandbox in education as a global model for digital learning innovation.

Growth in Nonprofit Sector

The Cabinet also discussed domestic development indicators, and reported ongoing growth in the nonprofit sector. The Kingdom had over 7,200 nonprofit organizations and 1,700,000 volunteers by the end of 2025, with growing community participation and support for national development goals.

Saudi Arabia Expands International Cooperation

The Cabinet also approve the discussion of a memorandum of understanding with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission with a view to further enhancing cooperation and sharing of expertise on nuclear and radiological regulation.

The endorsement of the Unified National Visa Platform represents another step in Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation agenda. The Kingdom further advancing its position as a global hub for tourism, investment, and innovation through improving government efficiency, expanding international cooperation, and strengthening diplomatic ties.
